Real questions from roasters and brand founders we've quoted in the last 12 months. Skip to a category on the left, or scroll the whole thing — it's about a 6-minute read.
100 units for digital runs, 1,000 units if you want flexo (cheaper per unit, but more setup). Most first-time roasters land at 500–1,000 bags.
Three inputs: size, quantity, finish. We don't run a hidden broker fee, we don't load a "rush" charge unless you actually rush, and pricing on our site is anchored to real 2025–26 invoices (the ones marked with ★).
For a 12oz bag with valve and matte finish, our standard price ladder:
Print, finishing, bag construction, valve (if specified), QA, packing, palletizing, customs clearance, and DDP delivery to your US warehouse address. No surprise fees on arrival.
Not included: rush production (under 14 days), oversized custom dies, foil stamping or spot UV (priced per add-on), and Alaska/Hawaii surcharge.
Yes — two options:
First order: 50% on PO, 50% on shipment notification. Wire, ACH, or credit card (3% fee). After three runs together we open Net-30 terms with a credit check.
Honestly? We're probably not the right partner for a 50-bag run. Try a US sticker-and-pre-made-bag service like Stikr or Flexo for those volumes — we'll point you at one. Come back when you're ready for 200+.
The parent press house does all of it — labels, cartons, sleeves, sachets. ARTPRINT is currently focused on flexible pouches because that's where small-brand demand is loudest. Email us if you want a custom carton run; we'll quote it the slow way.
Vector PDF with fonts outlined, or a layered Adobe Illustrator .ai file. CMYK color, 300dpi for embedded images, and any spot Pantone called out by name.
If you only have a flat PNG or a Canva export, we'll send back a list of issues and either (a) help you fix it for free, or (b) re-build it for you at $120/hr.
Yes. Our in-house design team works in two modes: (1) tune-up ($150 flat, fixes a near-final design for press), and (2) full design (from $1,200, three concepts, two rounds of revisions, final files). Either way, you own the artwork.
We hold to ΔE < 2 against your specified Pantone — the same standard as Fogra-certified European converters. Practically: imperceptible to a normal human eye on a finished bag. We send a digital proof (with measured ΔE) before press.
Yes — every job is archived for 5 years. Reorders skip pre-press entirely and ship in 12 days instead of 20. You get the same dieline, the same color match, the same film stock.
Two options: printed (per-bag variation via the HP-Indigo, +$0.04/u) or stamped (we leave a white box on the back; you stamp it with a date gun in your roastery). Most roasters pick the stamp route — cheaper and more flexible.
14 days press-floor, 6 days transit. Total 20 days from signed PO to your dock. Rush production (10 days, +25%) is available for reorders only — first-time runs need full pre-press.
Locked under 0.5% on print defects. We over-run by 2–3% so you receive at least the quantity ordered. We do not bill for over-runs — you keep them.
Yes — FDA 21 CFR 175/176/177 compliant for food contact, with full migration testing on file. We can supply a Certificate of Compliance with each shipment on request.
Standard: 5-layer PET / aluminum / PE laminate (the industry default for coffee). Optional: kraft-look paper laminate, recyclable mono-PE, and compostable PLA-based film. The compostable adds about 18% to the price.
DDP = Delivered Duty Paid. We handle export from Colombia, customs clearance into the US, and last-mile to your address. You pay one invoice, we eat the customs paperwork. No broker calling you for unexpected fees on the day of delivery.
No. Under the US–Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement (in force since 2012), flexible packaging carries 0% duty. We file the certificate of origin on every shipment.
Air: 24–48 hours in transit, ~$0.20/bag premium. Ocean: 5–8 days, free. We default to ocean for orders over 1,000 units, air for samples and reorders. You can choose either at PO time.
Alaska/Hawaii: yes, with a $90 surcharge (last-mile is the issue). Canada: yes, but priced separately — different customs regime. Mexico, EU, UK, AU: case-by-case, email us.
The standard 5-layer foil bag is technically recyclable but practically not (most US curbside programs reject mixed-material flexible packaging). If recyclability matters: choose our mono-PE film — How2Recycle pre-qualified, store drop-off compatible.
We offer a PLA-based home-compostable film certified to TÜV OK Compost HOME. Heads up: shorter shelf life for coffee (4–6 months vs 12 on foil), about 18% more expensive, slight matte texture difference. Ask for a sample before you commit.
Honest answer: roughly the same. The shorter-than-China shipping route offsets the international leg vs a US converter. We've measured it at ~0.21 kg CO₂e per 12oz bag delivered, which is within 8% of comparable US-domestic flexible packaging. Numbers available on request.
Reorders ship in 12 days (vs 20 for first orders). Skip pre-press, skip artwork sign-off — we use the archived dieline. Email or WhatsApp the quantity, we send the PO, you sign, we print.
Photograph the pallet on arrival, send to ops@artprint.co within 48 hours. If it's an obvious freight defect we file the claim and re-print at our cost. Zero defects on the bag, zero questions on a re-run.
Reorders with artwork tweaks add 4 days for re-proofing. Cost depends on scope — a copy change is free, a full re-illustration is billed at $120/hr design time. We'll quote it before touching anything.
Real humans on the other end. WhatsApp gets the fastest answer; email is fine for anything not urgent.
